Patchouli Dark is a substantial natural essential oil derived from Pogostemon cablin, used to give fragrances depth, weight and a persistent woody foundation. A key material in chypre, amber and woody compositions, it also brings richness to floral accords. Small additions provide complexity and support the dry-down, while larger proportions establish a pronounced earthy patchouli character. Its dark color may affect the appearance of the finished fragrance.
